Narrative

The whole of Palestine is a country filled with segregation and the deprivation of human rights. People with no governments are only at the mercy of Israel and a prison like living conditions. They are killed if they crossed the Palestinian border to go to their place worship. Stripped of rights to freedom, Palestinians are in an open air prison and the lack of government to represent their needs exacerbates the problem. Palestinian babies die from the Israeli armies use of heavy weapons with the excuse of defending the state of Israel. Only bloodshed for the Palestinians and no hope for freedom due to being oppressed by the government that controls them. Through the ruble a ceasefire was issued not through strong actions but on weak words. Still to this day Palestinians are dragged out of their homes and their rightful land with no one to defend them. In this dire situation we must stand for Palestine and its people and lift them from the oppressive regime of Israel.

Presidential candidates hold a lot of promise to the nation when they win the election like lowering tax, increasing the economy, promising in 6 months there will be no illegal drugs, and taking back the waters we own from a foreign countries. People believe these promises will materialize even to a lesser degree as they see that they are responsible enough and accountable to the words they say. Holding them accountable to the words or promises they say is important as it is why we voted for him. Accountability is when an assurance of actions is taken and breaking this results in a consequence for their actions. But, as the new President came and ran the government closing to 5 years now not one of his promises came to fruition. This instead made things arguably worse for everyone: increased corruption, continued illegal drug supply which the president is allegedly a part of, bigger control of the foreign country in our sea. Where is the accountability in this? We might never find out. Just like many failed leaders they will not go out with a bang, but a whimper, an example of bad leadership that should happen the 2nd time.

Argumentative

Living in a capitalist society is the “ideal society”, poverty lessens and economies get bigger and people are given more opportunities, this is far from the truth. A capitalist society does not care for the poor; they only care for the profits and capitals. In a country like America where this is the practice in the 1900s where there is unfettered capitalism, monopolies were rampant where companies destroyed competition for profit and employees were treated as assets and without any care. People did get rich but only the people who were rich got richer and the poor stay poor. But this changed when the government stepped in and taxed the rich to spend money on social welfare leading to lessening of the economic gap and poverty rate. A capitalist society is not the ideal society as we will live in a society where people are exploited and resources are exhausted. A society needs to be caring to people who are vulnerable the most and give equal opportunity to all.

Information is the foundation of progress and innovation. As a society we are burdened with progressing in the right direction. Finding the decisions that benefit the majority and minimize the adverse reaction of those decisions. The best way to answer those questions is information. Information can be found everywhere from a community to an individual even in non living things.

Though information is key, interpreting it is as important or even more as not properly understanding it can lead to harmful outcomes. Outcomes like not giving urgency can lead to loss of lives, not giving importance to really important facts can mislead people and can devastate their life choice. As a writer properly interpreting that this can be the consequence of my job if not done properly.

However interpreting is very important, propagating this information is also as important. Importance what media we use and how we give people these info's to people are both major issues. Giving attention to important topics if not done well or poorly making unnecessarily lengthy is a big problem as this lessens readers retention span or how much they will read, are they just going to read the conclusion because the article or magazine is not worded properly to catch readers attention. Beside that, the problem of spreading the news in this time has become both easier and harder. News can be accessed with just one click and at the same time a reputable news source becomes harder to find as publishing more reports, whether important or not, is rewarded more than those who publish quality reports but only periodically. As aspiring writers we must follow our oath as what is important is serving the people what they need not serving people of what they think they will need to waste their time for more selfish monetary incentives.

The crux of publishers in the modern era, especially the news outlets, is that they are susceptible to giving more emphasis on monetary gains leading to incentivising quantity over quality. The internet is especially affected by this as it has become easier to share information in short more shares means more money and attention, making it a more competitive area in which if you do not post more news, sites become obsolete. Furthermore, this gets exaggerated when there is news that becomes viral and news sites use more promptness than fact checking and just becomes distorted because every news source uses another site as a source instead of manually inquiring on the 1st hand source to be more accurate and adding something new. A great example of this is when Covid-19 was a developing situation and many covered this situation carefully but some disregarded this and came up with many conclusion like, the virus is the same as a flu, the virus was man made, the virus is a hoax and is being spread by 5g which was shared heavily due to being more convenient and easier to understand compared to the complex situation that was happening. This has created a toxic environment in the publishing industry which cannot be underestimated and should change to better inform the public instead of the current situation.

Having learned the current situation it is dispiriting to say the least but this proves to show that in this space we can improve and progress as society. Improving the current system on capitalistic ideology is destructive and should not be advocated for, as capitalist ideals are directly opposed as capitalism focuses on profit and selling, while publication and writing focus on accessibility of information to the public. No matter how we say it, capitalism and publications are not a good idea to combine as this leads to a very divisive and reactionary type of media which leads to a divide and more tribalistic attitude to others ultimately halting progress. So the solution to this is having a community funded effort to pay for the publications instead of having to fight grit and sand to live day by day. This incentivizes the publications to focus and write more substantive news and articles that the community can use, unlike privately owned publications that are incentivized to write more but with a lesser focus in the communities that they operate in and focus on issues nationally. Community contributions also destroys biases as publications work in favor of community interest and is a great way to keep in check affairs and corruption in a community. In summary today’s capitalist agenda has spread in publications and has greatly undermined the trustworthiness of their words.

Many aspiring writers including me hope to change this state of Publications where writers are not treated as writers but a slave to the trends and clicks. We hope to bring substantial change to usher in an era of change, information, and progress for the benefits of society. Where people are informed and not misled by corporate greed for monetary gains. To make information unbiased and show every side with care not with incompetence. Information should be used to progress and to benefit the many, not to be used hastily and for monetary gain.
